The camp ends. The impact lasts.

For generations, GLOW (Girls Leading Our World) and YMLP (Young Men’s Leadership Project) camps have helped young people in Macedonia build confidence, develop leadership skills, form lasting friendships, and discover their potential.
Both camps shut down completely during COVID. YMCA Macedonia began rebuilding day camps in 2023 and 2025 and successfully relaunched the overnight national camps in Summer 2026. Their return restores an important opportunity for young people to challenge themselves, build friendships across communities, and become active contributors to society.

Help Rebuild a Legacy

Through “The Impact Lasts” campaign, YMCA Macedonia is raising funds to update and expand GLOW and YMLP in 2027. The campaign focuses on three priorities:

• Camper Scholarships: Making camp accessible to teenagers whose families cannot afford the full registration fee
• Camping Equipment & Educational Materials: Providing tents, outdoor gear, workshop supplies, and resources for safe and engaging teambuilding and leadership activities
• Outdoor Adventures & Leadership Experiences: Supporting hiking, environmental education, team challenges, and hands-on learning at Pelister National Park

Every contribution helps create opportunities for young people to grow, lead, and connect.

The Community Helps Make the Impact Last

The relaunch has been made possible by a community of supporters, including Returned Peace Corps Volunteers, Macedonian alumni staff living abroad, diaspora organizations, and local camper and staff alumni.

Their support reflects the lasting connections formed through YMCA programs. Former campers often become counselors, mentors, volunteers, and community leaders. The friendships, confidence, and lessons developed at camp continue over the years.

Looking Ahead to 2027

The next national camps, expanded to 5 days /4 nights, are planned for:

• GLOW Camp: 22-26 June 2027
• YMLP Camp: 29 June – 3 July 2027

Both camps will be based in Bitola and Pelister National Park, bringing together teenagers from across Macedonia for leadership, friendship, personal growth, and outdoor adventure.

Everyone Has a Role

The future of GLOW and YMLP leadership camps depends on a community that believes in the potential of young people. There are three ways to help:

• Donate to provide scholarships, equipment, materials, and experiences
• Share the campaign with friends, family, alumni networks, and organizations
• Volunteer as a future camp staff member, mentor, or supporter

Every contribution helps rebuild these programs and extend their impact to the next generation.

The camp ends. The friendships last. The lessons last. The confidence lasts. The impact lasts.
